I took these photos over several weeks in April and early May. Of course, gardens never stay the same. By now, tulip time is over and we’re into iris time.

Thanks for sharing your tulips with us! I would not have recognized Tulipa batalinii as a tulip. It’s so unique.

You’re welcome, Priscilla! The flowers open up when the sun hits them and lose the typical tulip shape. I love the subtle colour shades of these.

Thank you! They are quite exuberant. Almost abstract close up.

I wish i had known. I would have come over for some picture taking. 😉
When we got married, tulips were the centerpiece flower. I searched out tulips this year to take pictures of for the wifey. I’m about to get prints of them to put on one of our walls.

Tulips are tricky in arrangements (not that I’m an expert in flower arranging). It must have taken some skill to create that centerpiece. I’m guessing you got married in spring?

March. 26 years ago. Near as I can recall, the centerpieces were good. But, then, I’m a guy. We’re kind of clueless about these kinds of things. 😉
