Audrey, there is something magical this time of year and I’m almost as mesmerised by the fading beauties of nature as when they are in full bloom! Now, I’m glad to see your fern in a pot … we moved a small one into our pot in autumn and hoped it will prevail. Looks possible!

That fern does love its pot! The one planted in the ground struggles to survive in the often dry, rooty soil. Good luck with yours, and thanks for your comment, Annika!

I try very hard not to feel sad at this time of year… reminding myself that all my lovelies are merely getting ready for sleep and that they will return in all their glory in the Spring!

There are snowdrops poking up all over the place, and even a few of the species tulips are showing a leaf or two. Barring deep freezes or blizzards, everything will emerge eventually!

Looks a bit like the view outside my window too, Audrey. There’s a lovely quiet to the late autumn.

Very atmospheric and colourful photos Audrey.
There is beauty here because with so many plants you know they are but resting and will be back next year.

Thank you, Roger. Yes, those plants will be awake and growing before I know it!
