Good share Audrey.
Food for thought there for folk starting out on the Indie trail.

Hi, Audrey. I read the post with interest, being an Indie Author myself. I haven’t used any of the promotions mentioned there, but I do look for, and ask for reviews. It’s hard work and time consuming, but very often it’s so worth it. I have read many times, not to pay for reviews, and so far, I’m sticking to that. There are many thousands of Indie Authors now – if not more, and readers can only manage to read some of them. We just have to keep going . . .

You seem to have found an approach that works for you, Elizabeth. I’m also uneasy about paying for reviews. I have participated in Goodreads Reading Rounds, which does not violate Amazon’s terms of service, but does guarantee four reviews per round. And reading the four books assigned to me each time has been a way of discovering new authors.

I didn’t know about that, Audrey. Thanks for the tip.

I think Mark is experiencing the same challenges the rest of us are. Marketing is HARD work, and we have to be in it for the long haul.
