Lovely post, Audrey. I just love the way daffodils pop up in so many unexpected places!

I don’t know if I planted these or if they were already here when we moved in.
Thanks for sharing this!

I find them in such odd places in my garden…

I think the bulbs get moved around by creatures, and roots shifting the soil, perhaps.

I like to think they move all by themselves…

Do they grow well in South Africa, Robbie? I know you have all kinds of amazing plants there.

HI Audrey, daffodils do grow here but they don’t like our summer heat. They flourish in autumn (April).

It’s interesting that they bloom in the same month as in the northern hemisphere.

I love daffodils. I have a blown emerald green pitcher from Jamestown, Virginia that I love to put the flowers in each Spring

I saw a few magnolia trees in blossom yesterday. I’m sure this is the earliest they’ve blossomed in many years.

Magnolias here are just starting. I remember you posted a great photo of a yellow-flowered magnolia once.

So pretty. Mine are just starting to pop, Audrey. I planted 100 new bulbs last fall and can’t wait to see them. 🙂

They’ll probably put on a good show, Diana. 🌷🌷🌷

There are so many different kinds, with a long season overall (in cool springs especially). Do daffodils do well in Texas?

I do see quite a few daffodils in early spring. Maybe I’ll try them on my balcony next year? In Michigan, I had daffodils in various colors and sizes.
