Is Foxglove poisonous Audrey?

It can be. It was once used for heart problems, but it’s best to leave it alone.

I was curious about Bears eating it or other forest animals.

Deer don’t eat it, but I don’t know if bears would. The plant has escaped from cultivation so can be found near communities.

A very regal looking flower, in a Grace Kelly type of way.

I love the white ones. This one seems to have pale green spots, which is even better.

Thanks, Susan. The spots are very pale, and do look sort of greenish. Other white ones have darker spots.

I have two of those in my yard as well. Some are white and another is purple.

They pop up where they feel at home, I think. I’ve had them in colours from pure white to white with spots to different shades of pink and purple.

So beautiful like poisonous. A metaphor for a kind of women? Lol xx Michael

The green colour of the buds does add a hint of poison, doesn’t it? And metaphors are what each of us makes them. Many thanks for the reblog, Michael!

So pretty, Audrey. Pink foxglove is invasive in Oregon, but every time I see it, I want to dig it up and plant it in my yard. Beautiful plant and beautiful photo.

Yes, Diana–somehow the white form seems less “weedy” than the pink and purple ones, even though it isn’t. I’ve managed to grow quasi-weeds at my place in a way that makes them look like quality plants.

The white one definitely does not look weedy. It looks elegant!

I meant to say yesterday, I love your new header. 🙂

Thanks! The close-up of foxglove flowers is the featured image for that post. The header with the blog’s title changes randomly, although all those images are from my photos or put together by me. So you never know what you’ll see from one visit to the next.

It was the book title one that caught my eye. 😀 … as all good book covers are supposed to do. 😀

Yes, that collage of my book images pops up occasionally. Most of the others are plant photos.
