A beautiful capture, Audrey… why have I not seen these lovely Fawn Lilies before?

They are wildflowers here on Vancouver Island, but maybe are not sold everywhere. I bought mine from a local nursery.

There is a pink variety as well, a different species. I think it’s fussier. And a yellow horticultural type called “Pagoda,” which I do have but no photos, unfortunately.

Thanks, Joy! They’re also called “Easter lilies” because often they bloom about the time of that holiday. A meadow full of them is a lovely sight.

A cosy little environment of its own.

I hope so. I planted the lily there because they naturally grow near those trees.

Thanks, Liz! It’s always nice when a wildflower decides it likes its spot in the garden.

I grew up calling them Dog Tooth Violets. So nice to see them again, even if only in a photo.

There’s something magical about woodland flowers, Audrey. Definitely fairies in them woods. ❤

I haven’t managed to see the fairies yet, but there’s definitely a bunny and lots of birds.

I so love the poetic nature of this post’s title and the gentle photos of such lovely spring blooms! ❤

Thanks, Layla. I thought I’d include the tree in the title, even though only a little of it is visible in the photos.

Too true. Even the ones you don’t end up enjoying have a tendency to teach you something.
